Nanaimo Orthopaedics brings together a group of 6 orthopaedic surgeons, 3 Musculoskeletal Medicine (MSK medicine) physicians, and a staff of medical office administrators.

On 3 September 2019, we implemented a system of pooled referrals and waitlist management. This means that all referrals from family physicians to one of our Nanaimo orthopaedic surgeons now comes into a single referral “pool”. The referral is screened by one of our surgeons and is directed the most appropriate physician for consultation. Patients and physicians will still have the option to select the surgeon of choice. This step will ensure the shortest wait for a patient to an appointment with a physician. From the time of a patient’s appointment to their recovery, all patient’s orthopaedic needs will be coordinated by the team at Nanaimo Orthopaedics.

We are currently working with a building manager in Nanaimo to construct a new facility where our entire team will be located under one roof. The new facility is expected to be open and operational by September of 2020 and will be located at #301-1515 Dufferin Cres.
